This college was established in June, 1976. At that time it was known as Maharshi Dayanand Saraswati Arts & Commerce College, Junagadh. It was a College with co-education system. At that time first Principal was Mr. B .M. Pirzada. Then Mr. B. J. Mehta, Mr. Y. J. Thakore & Mr. B. J. Vatalia rendered their services as the Principals of this college. At present, Dr. Balram P. Chavda works as the principal of this college.In the year 1983, on the sudden demise of Dr. Subhash Chavda who was the son of Shri Pethaljibhai Chavda, the name of ‘Dr. Subhash’ was included with the name of this college & the trust.This college was converted into a Mahila College in the year 1983. It offers Gujarati, Hindi, English & Economics Sociology, Psychology as main subjects.In the year 1990, the faculty of Home Science was started in this college.
